Strahinja Milosevic led Szolnoki with 20 points. Stanley Burrell had 13 while Milos Borisov added 11 for the guests. An 11-0 run which Robin Benzing capped with a three-pointer helped CAI get a 27-11 lead after 10 minutes. CAI boosted its margin to 53-27 at halftime behind an outstanding Fotu and then again to 76-43 early in the fourth quarter, gicing its fans plenty of time to celebrate an important win.

Norel and David Vojvoda got their respective teams going and a three-pointer by Joan Sastre soon gave CAI a 5-2 lead. Fotu followed free throws with a jumper but Milosevic kept Szolnoki within 9-7. Fotu and Milosevic traded baskets and a put-back layup by Pere Tomas gave CAI a 13-9 edge. Fotu took over with a dunk and an alleyoop basket and Norel banked in a close shot to make it a double-digit game, 19-9. Benzing capped an 11-0 run with a three-pointer, as Vojvoda stepped up with free throws. Sek Henry joined the three-point shootout and a put-back layup by Kravtsov boosted the hosts' lead to 27-11 after 10 minutes. Jarrod Jones split free throws early in the second quarter and Borisov beat the shot clock buzzer with a basket that brought Szolnoki a bit closer, 27-14. Kravtsov took over with a dunk and Nate Linhart soon gave CAI a 31-14 lead. Henry and Krisztian Wittmann exchanged three-pointers and Jordan Swing boosted the hosts' lead to 36-17. Burrell tried to change things with consecutive baskets but Jelovac had 4 points in a 6-0 run which broke the game open, 44-21. Milosevic kept pacing Szolnoki but Norel scored in the paint, Jelovac hit a triple and Sastre beat the halftime buzzer with a bomb from downtown, good for a 53-27 CAI lead at halftime.

Back-to-back baskets by Milosevic gave Szolnoki a bit of hope, 53-31, soon after the break. Fotu exchanged baskets with a red hot Milosevic and soon added a jump hook to keep CAI out of trouble at 57-33. Tomas took over with a layup-plus-foul off a steal and soon added a wild reverse dunk that made it a 29-point game, 62-33. Jones scored around the basket but Fotu stayed on fire, giving CAI a 66-36 lead. A block by Kravtsov allowed Fotu to dunk at the other end. Jones answered with his own slam and Burrell brought Szolnoki closer, 70-43. Free throws by Kravtsov fixed the score at 72-43 after 30 minutes. Kravtsov dunked again early in the fourth quarter and a jumper by Jelovac made it a 33-point game, 76-43. The outcome was clear but both teams kept fighting for points differential. Borisov buried consecutive three-pointer and a layup by Vojvoda brought Szolnoki within 78-51. A big basket by Jelovac and back-to-back slams by Norel allowed CAI to celebrate its first win in Group N in style.

CAI Zaragoza
"I wanted to see our team play with intensity, not just up and down, but all 40 minutes, and I think we achieved that tonight. It is not easy to stay focused when you get such a big lead in the first two quarters, but we did that in the second half. We kept collecting steals and missed more shots than in the first half, in which we were more fluid, circulated the ball better and had a more balanced offense, which allowed us to get a good lead. I spoke about point difference in all of my timeouts. After our heavy loss the other day against Galatasaray, we have to fight to stay alive in this competition and the bigger margin we get, the better. Galatasaray lost against Sassari tonight and Sassari lost against Szolnoki last week, which shows the Eurocup is difficult and you always have to be fully focused."
POR, PETER
Szolnoki Olaj
"We didn’t begin as we wanted, letting CAI score easy baskets and missing several shots in open shots. We struggled in rebounds and they got many offensive ones to find rhythm and speed. Once they got that we couldn’t stop CAI Zaragoza and our defense wasn’t as good as in previous games."

Players

FOTU, ISAAC
CAI Zaragoza
"It was necessary for us come out as we did after the tough loss in Istanbul. We just wanted to get a very important win here and show we deserve to be in the Last 32. I just tried to be aggressive. Coach asked me to have a good start because in the last game we didn’t. I just wanted to make sure we can have a good start, which helped us the rest of the game , so I just played with confidence and my teammates helped finding me in good positions."
MILOSEVIC, STRAHINJA
Szolnoki Olaj
"We expected a hard game because CAI has good shooters who play especially good at home. But we didn’t expect losing and doing it by a 30-point difference. We missed a lot threes and rebounds. We just have to congratulate CAI and improve for our next game in Szolnok."
