CEZ Basketball Nymburk made it to the Eurocup Last 32 by downing Artland Dragons Quakenbrueck 58-77 in Group A on the road on Wednesday. Nymburk needed to win and expect Telenet Ostend to defeat Le Mans Sarthe Basket. Since Ostend beat Le Mans 79-70, Nymburk was third with a 6-4 record and Le Mans fourth - and out of the Last 32 - at 5-5. Rado Rancik led the winners with 20 points. Dylan Page added 19 while Tre Simmons had 12 for Nymburk. Anthony King led Quakenbrueck with 13 points. Lawrence Hill added 12 for the hosts. Nymburk cemented its win in a great first half, leading 10-20 after 10 minutes and extending its margin to 25-46 at halftime. Nothing changed from that moment, as Nymburk managed to keep a double-digit lead all the way until the final buzzer.

Back-to-back three-pointers by Rancik gave Nymburk an early 2-6 lead. King stepped up with consecutive baskets but Jiri Welsch kept Nymburk ahead, 6-10. Hill hit a jumper but Page answered at the other end and Vlado Ilievski struck from downtown for a 8-15 score. A three-pointer by Simmons and a close basket by Rasid Mahalbasc made it a double-digit game, 10-20, after 10 minutes. Chad Topper and Hill buried consecutive triples to give Artland hope, 16-20, early in the second quarter. Acha Njei joined the three-point shootout for a 23-24 Artland deficit. It didn't last long, however, as Page and Simmons fueled a 0-8 run that boosted Nymburk's lead to 23-32. Njei scored again but Page, Vojtech Hruban and Rancik struck from downtown to break the game open, 25-46, at halftime. Welsch capped a 0-16 run that bridged between both halves. King and Brandon Thomas stepped up for Artland and another triple by Topper gave the hosts hope at 40-51. Page and an outstanding Simmons allowed Nymburk to stay out of trouble, 44-58, after 30 minutes. Rancik took over early in the fourth quarter and a three-pointer by Page sealed the outcome, 49-58, with over 4 minutes left. Artland kept struggling to score and Nymburk had plenty of time to celebrate a go-ahead, critical road win.
