Amara Sy and Chevon Troutman combined for 46 points as Asvel Basket evened its record in Group E at 1-1 by holding on for an 85-83 victory at home over Azovmash Mariupol. Troutman scored 7 of his 22 points in the game-deciding 11-0 fourth quarter run while Sy hit a number of important baskets to finish with 24 points and 4 assists. J.R. Reynolds added 14 points and 8 assists for Asvel and Eric Campbell chipped in 8 points and 7 rebounds. Asvel will next play at Kalise Gran Canaria. Azovmash dropped to 1-1 and will next host Lietuvos Rytas. Simonas Serapinas led Azovmash wtih 21 points and Tomas Van Den Spiegel collected 20 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists. Dijon Thompson scored 14 points and Marc Salyers chipped in 13 points and 6 rebounds. Khalid El-Amin was held to just 6 points on 2-of-9 shooting from the field though he did dish out 7 assists in the losing effort.

Van Den Spiegel scored the first four points of the game for the guests and Salyers made it 0-6. Asvel finally hit its first basket - three minutes into the game as Ali Traore hit a lay-up. Reynolds knocked down a triple and Campbell hit back-to-back baskets to complete a 9-0 run for a 9-6 lead. A Van Den Spiegel dunk stopped the run and Oleksandr Skutyelnik's triple made it 11-11. Thompson converted a three-point play and hit a triple and Serapinas's three-point play gave Azovmash a 17-22 advantage. Sy and Reynolds helped bring Asvel to within 23-24 after one period. Sy gave Asvel back the lead to start the second but Thompson pushed Azovmash back ahead. The score was tied at 29-29 when Aymeric Jeanneau scored his first basket of the game then Laurent Foirest hit his first score and followed that with a triple for a 36-29 advantage. Van Den Spiegel snapped Azovmash's three-minute scoreless drought with a foul shot and then a layup made it 37-33. Chevon Troutman put back an offensive rebound and then hit a fast break layup to re-establish a 41-33 lead. Serapinas knocked down a triple but Troutman also was on target from long range just before the buzzer as the hosts led 45-38 at the break.

Sy opened the second half for Asvel and then El-Amin scored his first basket of the game. Sy's three-point play pushed the margin back to 10 points - 52-42. Serapinas hit from long range but Reynolds answered only to have Salyers answer right back. Serapinas continued his fine game with a three-point play to cut the deficit to 55-53. Salyers's next triple made it a one-point game and Van Den Spiegel's dunk and later free throw completed a 2-14 run for a 57-59 lead. But Sy answered and knotted the game at 59-59 with a dunk just before the third quarter buzzer. Sy once again started the scoring in the fourth and Van Den Spiegel gave Mariupol a 61-63 lead. And it was 63-66 after Thompson's triple. But Campbell's two foul shots started a 11-0 run which featured Troutman scoring seven points for a 74-66 Asvel advantage midway through the fourth. Serapinas answered with a triple only to have Sy knock down a three-ball and after two Azovmash turnovers Reynolds made it 81-71 inside the two-minute mark. Even though Salyers drained a triple, Sy's basket made it 85-76. But Azovmash had one more run left in it. Van Den Spiegel made a basket and missed the three-point play conversion only to have Thompson grab the rebound, score and get fouled. Thompson made the foul shot and it was just 85-81. Thompson stole the ball from Ben Dewar and then Salyers and Thompson both missed triples before Serapis put back the offensive rebound which proved meaningless in the end.
