After Massey scored from the foul line, Chuck Davis and Baris Ermis hit back-to-back mid-range jumpers to close within 16-11. Davis scored the additional free throw after a jumper and Veyseloglu grabbed an offensive board to score and give Banvit again the lead, 57-58. Blakney scored easy points to finish the break and make it 59-58 at the end of the third quarter. A 14-2 Lokomotiv charge opened the last quarter, with an astonishing dunk and a triple by Massey, to create a comfortable 73-60 cushion with four minutes left. The visitors tried to answer, but the momentum was all for the home team. Simmons hit a three pointer, but Blakney sealed the win with a layup before Simmons completed a three-point-play that fixed the final score at 75-67.

Head Coaches

MALJKOVIC, BOZIDAR
Lokomotiv Kuban
"It was important to win today because we had lost against Gran Canaria. To make it to the Last 16 we will need as many wins as possible. When Banvit played zone defense we were great in offense. I am very pleased with the Russian players today - Grigoryev and Sheleketo . they had a good attitude on the floor. It was a tough game and a much fought win."
ENE, ORHUN
Banvit Bandirma
"Even before the game, we knew that Lokomotiv is a very strong teams especially on defense and offensive rebounds. Therefore, we tried to focus on that. We tried to play zone defense most of the game but we allowed them pull 18 offensive rebounds anyway. We started the game badly. Maybe we had a chance to come back in the last quarter but we had two turnovers and they scored the baskets. It was a difficult game to play."

Players

GRIGORYEV, MAXIM
Lokomotiv Kuban
"This is the first home match and the first victory. The decisive breakaway got to do with defense, especially in the last quarter. We did what coach demanded. And that is why we allowed our opponents to score just nine points in the last quarter. In this way, we won."
SIMMONS, KEITH
Banvit Bandirma
"Lokomotiv is a rather strong team. They played very well on both ends of the floor and forced us to make mistakes. They controlled the situation throght the 40 minutes. We failed to win."
