Pivovarna Lasko took its second win in the ULEB Cup in thrilling fashion on Tuesday, with a big comeback in the last minutes that left the fans in Slovenia smiling over an 85-81 decision against Opel Skyliners. The visitors from Frankfurt were ahead 76-81 with just under 2 minutes left after technical free throws charged against Pivovarna. It was going to take a miracle now for the hosts, and that came in the form of 3 deep shots for 9 points while the Germans stood frozen with their 81 points. First Kenyan Weaks, later Primoz Kobale and the lastly Primoz Brolih, gave the Lasko fans one of the sweetest wins imaginable and raised Pivovarna's record to 2-1 in Group B. The Skyliners fell to 1-2. Pivovarna had a good team effort despite low scoring by Weaks and Edwin Daniels, who managed only 16 points between them. Five of their teammates hit double-figures, however, led by Ermal Kuqo and Promoz Kobale with 12 points each, Radek Necas with 11, and Smiljan Pavic and Zvonimir Kovacevic with 10 each. Opel played without veteran guard Kai Nurnberger, but got 17 points from Robert Garret, the top scorer of the game, and 16 each from guard Pascal Roller and center Robert Maras.

The Slovenian hosts took control of the first half, but their seven-point lead at the break, 45-38, didn't foretell an easy second half. Still, 5 terrible minutes for the Germans at the beginning of the third quarter allowed Pivovarna to improve its lead to 15 points, 60-45. Starting then, the Germans reacted until 10 minutes later the scoreboard showed them holding a 71-74 lead thanks to a strong defense and quick fastbreaks. The game entered its decisive minutes balanced, to say the least, but luck was on the hosts side thanks to the three-pointers, which became a lethal weapon. Pivovarna made 7 of 17 shots from behind the arc, including 3 of 4 for Brolih, while Opel was 2 for 4 overall.
