Head Coaches

MARKOPOULOS, SOULIS
PAOK Thessaloniki
"Congratulations to Khimki, they were better and won fairly. We wanted to stop their tempo and block them from threatening our basket inside the paint and we have been successful up to a point. We received 31 points in the second quarter, which was the only one when we scored less than our opponent. We made a lot of turnovers during that period and gave them the opportunity to score some very easy baskets that cost us. We look at one game at a time and we'll see where that is going to get us in the end."
KURTINAITIS, RIMAS
Khimki Moscow Region
"I'm very happy to have won this game. It was a tough one, although it did not seem so since we led by 15 points twice. But PAOK is always PAOK, they play really tough, we have a lot of respect for them. We had one major goal in our game, to contain PAOK's scoring leaders, that is Marcus Goree and J.R. Giddens and we managed to do so perfectly. We played very good defense, although we weren't that good in offense, we made many turnovers in situations we had worked on, nevertheless it was defense that gave us the victory. We need to keep winning to make it to the end of the competition, I don't think we are the favorites, there are many good teams in the Eurocup which could also be playing the Euroleague, so we need to keep working to the end."

KALAMPAKAS, DIMITRIOS
PAOK Thessaloniki
"We had to face a very strong team and we tried to stop their best players which we did in parts of the game, however, we had some dead periods that cost us. What we keep is our general performance, since we have been having continuous games that the team is playing better and we are overall improving. We have a tough game ahead of us on Saturday, we need to focus on that and continue our effort."
NIELSEN, MATT
Khimki Moscow Region
"I have to congratulate PAOK for fighting for 40 minutes, although they had been facing so many injury problems. We played very good in defense, it was not our best offensive game, but overall we controlled the tempo and won a very important game. We are building for the future, we have a very good team, a really deep bench and I hope we'll be able to keep fighting for all three titles we play for. Having the Eurocup Finals played in our gym is an extra motivation for us, since we don't want to be the team watching that event happening in its home court without us, but we still have a long way to go. Hopefully we are strong enough to make it."
