BC Triumph Lyubertsy remained undefeated in Group C with a 91-84 victory at VEF Riga thanks to 32 points from Tywain McKee. Lyubertsy improved to 3-0 as McKee also collected 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals for a 42 ranking index. Sergey Karasev added 19 points and Kyle Landry chipped in 17 points and 9 rebounds for the road victors. Riga dropped to 1-2 in the group despite 23 points from Dairis Bertans while Earl Rowland had 14 points and both Kaspars Berzins and Antanas Kavaliauskas scored 10 points.

Riga went ahead 5-2 early but Karasev scored five straight points to start a 2-16 run in which the hosts only made two free throws by Will Daniels in six and a half minutes as Triumph built a 7-18 lead. Gatis Jahovics’ basket stopped the dry spell and Riga trailed 11-20 after one quarter. McKee opened the second quarter with back-to-back baskets and Yuval Naimy’s triple pushed the advantage to 15-27. Landry’s score made it a 15-point game 20-35 before Riga went on a mini 6-0 run to pull within single digits 29-38. McKee picked up things again and Karasev’s three at the buzzer gave Lyubertsy a 34-48 lead at halftime.

Bertans opened the third quarter with two three-balls and a steal and dunk to bring Riga within 46-56. The Triumph lead was still 48-61 when Kristaps Janicenkos and Donatas Zavackas nailed threes to help the hosts close within 59-63 after three quarters. Bertans started the fourth with a triple and Kavaliauskas’ layup completed a 16-2 run for a 66-63 Riga lead. And a Bertans three-point play gave Riga a 69-68 lead. But McKee took over again, hitting back-to-back shots and then scoring again to make it 73-82. Riga pulled to within 81-86 on Rowland’s three but McKee and Karasev combined to make 7 of 8 free throws in the final 2:12 minutes to secure the victory.
