2010-11U18 BelgradeRound 2
BC Crvena Zvezda celebrated its 2nd win in the NIJT in Belgrade following an 88-81 victory over INSEP in the closing game of Group B. Zvezda climbed to a 2-0 record and earned the first ticket to the semifinals to be held tomorrow evening. Before that Zvezda will face Beovuk tomorrow morning in hope to keep its record clean of losses. INSEP will challenge Union Olimpija where the eventual winner will grab the second ticket to the semifinals of the tournament. Aleksander Cvetkovic led the winners with 28 points and 8 assists, Ivan Marinkovic added 18 with 10 rebounds and Ivan Saicic had 15 points with 12 boards. Livio Jean-Charles topped the sheet of INSEP with 23 points and 9 boards, while William Howard and Anthony Racine scored 14 each. Cvetkovic was the engine of Zvezda from the start, and his third assist in the first quarter allowed Saicic to score his first points right from the perimeter to set a 23-21 lead for their team after 10 minutes. Jean-Charles collected points as INSEP took the lead late in the second quarter, but Cvetkovic scored the last 4 points of the half to make it 44-41 after two quarters. Racine with 6 points in a row didn't allow Zvezda to get too far ahead, but after cutting the margin to 62-59 Cvetkovic took over again first with a three pointer and later an assist to a long range hit that pushed the gap to 72-61 and sealed the battle before the buzzer.
