KK Buducnost took an important first home win on Tuesday night, 70-59, against Hemofarm Stada in a game with Adriatic League flavor. The hosts started dominating, but soon, Hemofarm stepped up with a scoring run that allowed the guests to forge a 24-32 edge on the verge of finishing the first half. However, Buducnost reacted with an 11-1 run between the third and fourth quarters that turned things around for good. Now, Buducnost puts the first win in the column and improves to 1-2 to tie with CEZ Nymburk, while Hemofarm drops to 1-2 in Group H and allows Iurbentia Bilbao to escape as sole group leader with a 3-0 midway through the regular season. Nemanja Gordic led the winners with his 14 points, Vladimir Dasic posted 13 and Vladimir Dragicevic had 10 for Buducnost. For Hemofarm, Vladan Vukosavljevic had 18 points, 11 of them in the first quarter.
Milivoje Bozovic opened the scoreboard for Hemofarm but soon, Buducnost was up by 4-2 after Vladimir Micov's bucket. Vladan Vukosavljevic was Buducnosts's main problem now as he quickly escalated to 7 points as he scored for a 8-9 edge for the guests from the paint. Vladimir Dasic insisted for the hosts to keep his team ahead, but so did Vukosavljevic who dominated the first minutes of the game in offense with no opposition. However, Ivan Maras hit back with 5 straight points including a triple for Buducnost, to put an end to the first period with a 22-17. Hemofarm started the second period completely outrebounding Buducnost, 4-12, but the 5 steals of the hosts against 0 by the guests and better ball handling in offense allowed Buducnost to stay on the lead, 24-19, after Maras' layup. At that point however, things turned around for the guests with a 0-13 run including 4 points by Milan Macvan that put a 24-32 on the score in minute 18. Marko Simonovic stopped the bleeding for Buducnost with his layup, even though the turnovers rate for the hosts was alarmingly starting to grow. The halftime buzzer rang though after Bojan Krstovic stopped Buducnost's mini-reaction with a free throw to send the game into the break with a 28-33 advantage for Hemofarm.
Nemanja Gordic's three straight points to open the second half, allowed Buducnost to pull within 31-33, but defenses were tough again and points were scarce. Vukosavljevic re-appeared on the offensive end for Hemofarm to keep his team going, but Marko Simonovic free throws and Vladimir Dragicevic's layup tied the game again, 37-37 in minute 25. The positive trend in offense of the hosts went on however, as Gordic appeared again with five points in a row, bomb from downtown included, to put his team ahead after many minutes, 44-38, sealing an 11-1 burst that gave way to a 46-42 Buducnost lead entering the last period. The fourth quarter opened with a 5-0 Buducnost run that allowed the hosts to build a 51-42 cushion, only trimmed by Macvan's basket-plus-foul that gave some life back to Hemofarm. However, Buducnost played its cards smart by keeping the lead safe with Dasic's and Dragicevic's three-pointers midway through the last period to keep it 64-52 in minute 37. Stefan Markovic rose from the arc for Hemofarm with a three entering the last minute, but it was 68-57 after Dragicevic's free throw in the last steps of the game, securing the first win of the season for the team from Podgorica.
