Alba Berlin qualified on Saturday for the fifth place game by clearly defeating Union Olimpija by 65-86. Kenneth Ogbe led the winners with his 17 points, Kalidou Diouf added 16, David Herwig had 15 and Marlon Theis posted 14. For Olimpija, Djordje Micic led the way with 19 points, Boris Bosnjak had 13 and Ziga Dimec had 12. The first three quarters of the game were balanced throughout, until minute 28 when Alba fired up a 1-8 run to clse the third period leading 55-61. The last period also started with a 0-6 for Alba and then Diouf made it a double-digit lead at 55-67. At that point Olimpija collapsed and Alba used the last minutes to increase the lead even more to the final 21 points. The 18 assists and 31 rebounds for the German team were good enough to dominate and make the fifth place game.
