Gran Canaria Grupo Dunas bounced back from its initial loss in Group G by downing EnBW Ludwigsburg 89-73 at home on Tuesday. Gran Canaria improved to 1-1 in Group G while Ludwigsburg dropped to 0-2. Sergio Perez led the winners with 16 points. Joel Freeland, Marcus Norris and Sitapha Savane each added 12 while Roberto Guerra had 10 on 5-of-5 two-pointers for Gran Canaria. Brandon Woudstra led Ludwigsburg with 20 points, Chad Prewitt added 14, Jason Dourisseau 11 and Frank Young 10. Ludwigsburg opened the game with a 2-8 run but Gran Canaria soon regained the lead for good and boosted its margin to 24-15 after 10 minutes. Woudstra, Ferreira and Ross brought the guests within 50-47 midway through the third quarter, but Gran Canaria found its go-to guys in Perez and Freeland. Perez buried 3 triples in the final period while Freeland provided several highlights with his outstanding dunks. As such, as the hosts boosted their margin to 74-63 with 6 minutes to go and never looked back.

Dourisseau stroke from downtown while Woudstra followed a layup with a triple in Ludwigsburg's 2-8 opening run. Gran Canaria did not panic, however, as Freeland and Mario Fernandez ignited a 9-1 run that Jim Moran capped with a basket off a steal for a 11-9 edge. Dourisseau and Woudstra kept pacing Ludwigsburg but a final triple by Perez allowed Gran Canaria to regain the lead, 16-15, after 10 minutes. Chris Massie stepped up with a put-back basket, igniting a 8-0 run that Norris capped with a three-pointer for a 24-15 Gran Canaria lead. Prewitt tried to rescue Ludwigsburg but the guests only managed to trade baskets now. Savane and Guerra helped Gran Canaria to get a 45-35 halftime lead. Woudstra hit back-to-back triples right after the break while Ronald Ross added a layup for a 48-43 Ludwigsburg deficit. A jumper by Ferreira got the guests even closer, 50-47. Norris and Carl English stepped up with respective triples, but Dourisseau and Ferreira kept Ludwigsburg within 64-58 after 30 minutes. Perez stroke from downtown while Freeland shined with a couple of monster dunks for a 74-63 Gran Canaria lead with 6 minutes to go. Back-to-back triples by Ross and Young gave Ludwigsburg some hope, 76-69, but Perez buried consecutive three-pointers and Fernandez added another one, 85-73. Back-to-back dunks by Guerra and Perez in the final minute allowed Gran Canaria to seal the win in style.
