Canarias Basketball Academy survived Mega Vizura Belgrade in their respective first game at the Belgrade Tournament with a 69-75 win in Group B, that was only sealed in the last minutes. Canarias dominated the first half of the game, and then Mega Vizura reacted in the second and even managed to complete the comeback to a 66-65 score. However, that was all as Canarias managed to keep calm and convert from the stripe to maintain a safe lead until the final buzzer. Chris Tang led the winners with 20 points, Norbert Janicek added 18 and Jon Cuadra posted 17. For Mega Vizura, Nikola Pavlovic had 18 points and 11 rebounds, Radovan Dokovic added 16 and Stefan Simic nailed 14.

In the first half, Canarias clearly dominated the situation. Jon Cuadra scored for a 9-18 in minute 7 and after 10 minutes, the Spanish team dominated 14-19. In the second quarter, a 12-22 partial score launched Canarias to big double-digit leads. Chris Tang led his teammates with good accurate shooting, and Mega Vizura only saw how the opponent marched to a 26-41 halftime score. Everything changed in the third quarter. Nikola Pavlovic, Stefan Simic and Radovan Dokovic formed a lethal trio that launched Mega Vizura to a 9-2 run to start the second half, and which carried on until the 49-55 after 30 minutes that brought the game back to life. In the final period, Mega Vizura kept biting and finally completed the comeback when Dokovic hit the three for 66-65. However, Canarias was far from done. Norbert Janicek gave one last boost to his team as the game entered the last 90 seconds with a 66-69. In the final plays of the game, Janicek and Tang put Canarias in a safe place with a cold head from the free-thow line for a win.
