Siauliai posted its first ever ULEB Cup victory as Jose Olivero's 20 points paced four players in double figures in an 85-76 win at home over KK Bosna in Group A. The Lithuanians improved to 1-2 in Group A and next week host Guildford Heat. The Bosnian team Bosna dropped to 1-2 in the group despite 17 points from Kyle Hill. Lance Williams and Edin Bavcic each scored 12 points and Quemont Greer and Bryan Bailey both hit for 11. Bosnia only trailed by two points with just more than a minute left but Ruikis stole the ball from Greer and then made his foul shots down the stretch. The Bosnians host DKV Joventut next week.

Williams opened the scoring and his three-point play gave Bosna an 0-7 lead early. Grant answered with seven points in a 9-0 run and a 9-7 lead for the Lithuanians. Hill and Bavcic knocked down three-pointers and Bailey completed a three-point play for the guests while Grant finished the first ten minutes with 12 points in a 22-22 first quarter. Grant hit a three-pointer and converted a three-point play for a 28-24 advantage. But he collected his second foul just three minutes into the second period - having scored 18 points. Olivero did a good job keeping Siauliai ahead. Grant returned and picked up his third foul with three minutes left in half. Ruikis drained a three-pointer for a 41-36 cushion. But Greer finished off the second quarter with 11 points in building a 41-44 lead which was 43-46 at the break. Williams made the gap 43-48 only to see Zavackas bring the Lithuanians back ahead 51-50. Hill hit four straight baskets and Dzenan Rahimic scored for a 57-63 advantage. Olivero's three-point play allowed Siauliai cut the deficit to 60-63 after three periods. Ruikis and Zavackas knocked down three-pointers for a 66-65 lead. Grant picked up back-to-back fouls, fouling out with six minutes left. Bailey made two foul shots for a 72-74 advantage, to which Zavackas answered with a three-pointer. And two Zavackas free throws made it 77-74 with just more than two minutes left. Bavcic hit just one of two foul shots for a 77-75 deficit before Zavackas came up big again with a three-pointer. Ruikis then stole the ball from Greer and hit both of his free throws for an 82-75 lead. Ruikis knocked down three more in the final seconds to complete the home victory.

Head Coaches

KUNCAITIS, ROBERTAS
Siauliai
"We believed in the victory and we were fighting until the end of the game. The opponents thought that we would lose after Grant got his fifth foul. KK Bosna is a strong team, I saw their game with Guildford Heat and I was worried about the coming game."
ZDOVC, JURE
Bosna Sarajevo
"It's our fault that we lost. We had a great chance to win but we lost concentration and made three mistakes in a row."

Players

ZAVACKAS, DONATAS
Siauliai
"KK Bosna isn't a weak team but we always play better at home. At the end of the game I led the team because Antonio Grant had five fouls. It's not important who is the leader, the victory of the team - that's what matters."
OLIVERO, JOSE
Siauliai
"I am happy with our first victory in the ULEB Cup. Donatas is in the team again and he helped a lot. It wasn't a bad game for me, but I took some bad decisions so I am not very satisfied. It's difficult to play excellent all the time but I try to do my best in every game."
