The visitors finished the first quarter with a 3-15 spurt, opened the second with 0-9 run for 17-42, and never looked back. Caleb Green and Drake Diener hit 4 triples each, as Green paced the winners with 25 points, while Drake Diener scored 16. Linton Johnson had 17 points plus 9 rebounds, and Omar Thomas contributed with 12 points in victory. Chris Kramer was hosts' leading scorer with 16 points, Andrea Crosariol scored 15, Nemanja Aleksandrov 13, while Rickey Paulding netted 11 for EWE Baskets.

Caleb Green got Dinamo Sassari off to a good start, and with a hand from Travis Diener, put together a 0-8 run for 6-13 lead. Kramer and Crosariol got EWE Baskets going, cutting it to 14-18, but Caleb Green, Drake Diener and Johnson combined to score 10 unanswered points and make it a double-digit margin. Drake Diener's three with the first quarter buzzer made it 17-33, before Johnson and Marques Green scored 6 quick points to start the second quarter, and Brian Sacchetti's triple opened up 17-42 advantage. Konrad Wysocki tried to find a spark for the hosts, and Aleksandrov scored inside, but Sassari executed its offense with high percentages, and went into halftime up 30-55. In the opening 3 minutes of the second half, the visitors hit 4 triples, Drake Diener nailed a couple, while Thomas and Caleb Green sunk one apiece, as lead reached 38-69. Triples on the other end from Rickey Paulding and Dru Joyce helped cut the deficit to 52-71, but Giacomo Devecchi scored from downtown to snap hosts' run, and Sassari held 55-76 going into the final 10 minutes. EWE Baskets' run continued in the fourth quarter, with Kramer leading the charge from outside, while Crosariol and Robin Smeulders from inside, cutting the deficit to 71-83 midway through the quarter. But Devecchi answered with another three-pointer to make it a 15-point game, and the visitors hit two more triples to close the game out.

"It is hard to win a game when you allow the opponent to score 96 points. We were never able to put the defensive pressure needed on Sassari and in the first half we were terribly slow in our transition defense, which led to far too many easy fast break points for Sassari. We allowed them to play a dominant and fast-paced game and their good shooting, despite some ridiculous shots finding the net, was a direct result of our lack of pressure. Even though we won the second half we made too many mistakes, which kept us from getting a run together. In the last quarter we showed a little bit of the pride and the character we would have needed to have a chance today, but it was too little too late. We learned a lot about ourselves today."
SACCHETTI, ROMEO
Dinamo Banco di Sardegna Sassari
"We are very happy with this victory. We didn't play well in our Italian league debut on Sunday and I asked the team for a response. They came out showing great spirit and defended almost flawlessly in the first half. This defense made our offense so much easier. I want the team to work hard for 40 minutes. Today we executed for 30 minutes, which is dangerous against such a quality opponent. We will have to concentrate better in future games, but overall this doesn't belittle the very good game we had. It makes us proud to play in the Eurocup against some of the best teams and organizations in Europe and we want to show this pride in every game. Our shooting was good today but we live from our perimeter game, as we are lacking size underneath the basket."

"We are disappointed. When you win all your games in the national league you expect to do much better than we did today. We played very well over the past few weeks but couldn't muster the same qualities tonight. Sassari shot incredibly well today. Once they got into a rhythm and started knocking down even the most difficult shots it was hard for us to defend them. They are a team, which can get into a real hot streak and then become virtually impossible to stop. In the second half we fought back, but when you're 25 down there is preciously little you can do, because they countered every attempt by us to get back into the game."
GREEN, CALEB
Dinamo Banco di Sardegna Sassari
"We are still getting together as a team. The season just started and we need to get more familiar with each other. Today our focus was on giving a good answer to the way we played on Sunday. We wanted to have a hot start and dominate from the first minute. The good thing about our team is, that there is always a different player picking up the tempo and hitting down the important shots. It is good when you can rely on your teammates in such a way and in the end it is not important who scores the points as long as the team is successful."
