CSU Asesoft Ploiesti remained unstoppable on the road by winning its second game way, edging Igokea Aleksandrovac 77-84 in Group E to grab a share of second place with BC Khimki Moscow Region at 2-1 record. The hosts remain winless. Dragan Zekovic had an amazing performance with 25 points with 5 for 6 from beyond the arc, while Gerald Lee amassed 17 points, 7 rebounds and 2 steals and Alhaji Mohammed scored 11. Dusko Bunic contributed with 21 points for Igoeka, Nemanja Gordic drained 20 and Branko Jorovic 15.

Uros Nikolic gave a slim cushion to Igokea Aleksandrovac early in the game before Zekovic scored 6 points in a row to put Ploiesti in front, 13-16. However a 9-2 run capped by a Bunic dunk made it 22-18 at the end of the first quarter. Zekovic hit from downtown and again the visitors ahead, 27-29. The score was tied again at 33-33; then a 12-1 run capped by Catalin Burlacu from downtown and Filip Adamovic with a layup gave a 34-45 margin to Ploiesti at halftime. Burlacu extended the difference to 34-51 early in the third quarter, but the home team scored threes through Gordic and Jorovic and completed a three-point-play with Banic bringing his team within 43-51. Lee gave again a double-digit advantage to Ploiesti, but an unstoppable Bunic scored in the paint, 56-59, and Vladimir Tica scored for the 58-61 at the end of the quarter. Milan Dozet from downtown put the home team as close as 63-64, but they never took the lead. Mohammed’s jumper made it 74-80 with more than a minute left and after Jorovic hit a three, Tica and Mohammed sealed Ploiesti success with consecutive layups.

Being a responsible man, I also bear great responsibility because I selected this team. I am confident that we can play better, these players can play better and I will have to talk to the board about my position in the club, because something has to change."

"Great win for us. I just want to congratulate Igokea for a great display tonight, we wanted the win more and we were more focused in the decisive moments. I am very happy with the way we played, especially in the second quarter. The expansion of the Eurocup to 48 teams has been a great thing for many teams including us, and we are glad to be part of this competition. Our aim is to qualify from this very tough group and hopefully we will do it. We had tough schedule with playing away three times in first four games."
