Zalgiris Kaunas is the second team to advance to the title game of the Nike International Junior Tournament after thrashing Regal FC Barcelona 77-50 on Saturday afternoon in Barcelona. The Lithuanian team captured the top spot in Group B after winning all three encounters. They will march into the final against KK Zagreb Croatia, which also went 3-0 in the group stage. Regal FCB took the floor with a chance to advance to the final, but could not rise to the occasion and will finish the tournament with a 1-2 record. Tauras Jogela led Zalgiris with 19 points while Tomas Dimsa and Kaspars Vecvagars had 13 points each. Barcelona's Nacho Marin was the only player on his team to score in double-digits, hitting 15.

Zalgiris erupted early with an 18-2 run that put them on top 20-4 after 7 minutes, led by Jogela's 9 points. Regal FCB collected points in the paint by Spires and came as close as 22-11 late in the first quarter, but Zalgiris answered forcefully. From then until the final buzzer of the first half, Regal FCB was held to only 2 points, and went into the halftime break down by 42-13, punctuated by Jogela's dunk. The gap was just too wide for Barcelona to recover. Although Barcelona improved in the second half, it was only good enough to stop Zalgiris from increasing its lead even more.
