The hosts scored the final 5 points of the frame to lead 22-10. The margin was up to 26-12 when UNICS finally started to string together scores with Smith and Morgan both hitting threes in a 7-14 run to get within 33-26. Lansdowne answered with 5 straight points and the hosts led 43-29 at the break. Smith and Haukur Palsson both nailed three-pointers in helping UNICS get the deficit to 48-40. Lansdowne answered at the other end and Brian Sacchetti followed with a three-ball for a 71-60 cushion. McCollum would not give up with a three-pointer and 2 free throws to get it to within 77-70. But Cain came up with a big dunk and Lansdowne’s steal and layup put the game out of reach at 81-70.
Pivotal performer

Another home win in the EuroCup
This is Brescia’s second season in the EuroCup and last season the team also picked up some big home victories - knocking off Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade and Galatasaray Istanbul.
Telling numbers
Brescia turned the ball over just 6 times and did that while playing impressive defense in holding UNICS to just 42.3 percent on two-point shots. UNICS did not help itself by making just 14 of 25 free throws (56.0%).
