Damien Inglis - JT INSEP - NIJT Final Four London 2013INSEP Paris earned its first victory at the 2013 Nike International Junior Tournament by knocking off Team England 79-75 in overtime in Group B action Friday afternoon at the London Soccerdome. With the win, INSEP improved its record to 1-1 while Team England dropped to 0-2. In Saturday’s final day of group play, INSEP will take on FC Barcelona Regal while Team England seek its first win against OKK Spars Sarajevo. Paul Rigot led INSEP with 16 points and Ywen Smock finished with 11 points, 10 rebounds and six blocks. Team England received 16 points from Luke Nelson, who also added eight assists while Kingsley Okoroh added 13 points and nine boards. Team England finished the first half with a 32-36 lead, before Tamas Okros sparked a 15-0 run and held a 34-51 lead with 3:50 to play in the third quarter. Yet INSEP fought back with a 22-4 run and jumped ahead Nelson scored five points in the final 11 seconds, including a buzzer-beater to force overtime. INSEP was first to score and a three-pointer by Charly Pontens broke the last tie score of the game, 74-71. Pontens also scored a point from the free throw line with 11 seconds to go in the extra session to set the final score and give his team a key win.
