It will al be settled in the last week of the regular season between Panellinios BC and Bennet Cantu since in the Tuesday game that matched them up, hosting Panellinios won by 59-54, not enough to overcome the 15-point loss to the Italian team in the opening week. The win of Galatasaray Cafe Crown over GasTerra Flames earned the Turkish squad a ticket to the Last 16 and therefore, the last berth from Group E will be up for grabs between Panellinios and Cantu. The Greek team improved to a 3-2 record while Cantu drops to 2-3. Panellinios has the upper hand as it depends on itself to advance, but a loss combined with a Cantu win would put the Italian team in the Last 16 due to the favorable point differential. Maurice Bailey led the winners with his 14 points and Vangelis Sklavos added 11. For Bennet Cantu, only Benjamin Ortner scored in double digits with 11.

Both teams started close to each other and until Denir Marconato scored for Cantu for the 2-6, there wasn't a clear team ahead. Panellinios didn't shy away and Maurice Bailey kept the team on the rhythm. Finally, Vangelis Sklavos tied the game at 10-10 and the hosts soon jumped ahead for the 14-10 on another Sklavos bucket. Benjamin Ortner however still had some time to squeeze in a last score to make it 14-12 after 10 minutes. Defenses were the key of the second period also as points came in scarce. Mike Green put Cantu ahead again with a free throw but Djuro Ostojic did the same to keep Panellinios ahead at 24-19. Maarten Leunen pulled Cantu close again but the teams hit the lockerrooms at halftime with a 30-25 Panellinios edge after Ostojic free throws. The hosts dominating the rebounds battle at 22-16 was the key factor at this point.

Nothing much changed after resumption. Both teams were still struggling against tough defenses and it took almost four minutes for the first points to arrive as Marconato hit free throws. Ortner scored to make it 36-31 but a parade of free throws kept Panellinios out of reach when Sklavos hit a couple for 42-31. One of the few field goals in the period arrived from Leunen's hands to close at 44-37 after 30 minutes. Things looked a little better for Panellinios in the first minutes of the last quarter as Manolis Papamakarios finally made it a double-digit game with his basket for 52-41 in minute 34. However that was the wake-up all tha Cantu needed, as it sparked a 2-10 run capped by Nicolas Mazzarino's free throws to enter the last minute with just a three-point game, 54- 51. Free throws by Bailey and a basket by Ostojic made it 58-51 with seconds to go and Ortner only had time for a three-point play to allow Cantu to at least retain the point differential infavor to face the last week.

Head Coaches

SKOURTOPOULOS, ATHANASIOS
Panellinios Athens
"It is a great victory for the team. I am very happy and the world today came and supported us. It is the fourth game that we have only 10 players. But they have all responded well. Our major goal is to qualify for the Last 16. We got the rebounds, which led us to victory. We play now in Netherlands in the last race and a win qualifies us."
TRINCHIERI, ANDREA
Bennet Cantu
"Panellinios BC played louder and very good defense. We lost the rebounds to miss three-pointers. Because in the end we fought anddidn't lose by 20 points. We're still alive in Eurocup, but we'll play to Galatasaray in the next game but we need Panellinios to lose to advance. Everything is possible."

Players

SKLAVOS, EVANGELOS
Panellinios Athens
"We played against a very good team. Bennet Cantu had a leadership role in recent years in Italy. Today we played very well defensively, we had the passion needed. Rushed to believe that we won and did not win tonight by enough points. So we have to win in the Netherlands. Our problem is how to react after the good results."
LEUNEN, MAARTEN
Bennet Cantu
"It was a good game for both teams. Panellinios played tight in defense and we didn't have a good night from three-point range. We no longer have our fate in our hands but we hope to win next week and that Panellinios loses."
