Xavier Assalit - JT Joventut Badalona - NIJT Final Four London 2013Club Joventut Badalona became the first finalist of the 2013 Nike International Junior Tournament after beating Team China 75-62 in the first game of Group A in Day 3 on a Saturday afternoon at the London Soccerdome in London, England. Tomorrow at noon in The O2 Joventut will try to win its first NIJT title taking on the winner of Group B. Joventut took a 3-0 record in Group A while Team China finished the games with a 1-2 record. Jose Nogues led the winners with 21 points, Agusti Sans finished with 19 and Alberto Abalde scored 16. Jinglong Li scored 14 points for Team China. The first quarter saw Team China hold a 15-17 at the first buzzer, before Joventut exploded with 25 second quarter points as Abalde collected already 13 points for a 40-30 half time lead. Li reached double-digits to cut the margin to only 5 midway in the third quarter, but Joventut stayed on top and kept a safety net until the final buzzer.
