Zalgiris Kaunas wrote its 2nd win in the Nike International Junior Tournament after an 84-71 victory over Union Olimpija Ljubljana in Group B of the games in Friday afternoon in Paris, France. With this win Zalgiris take a 2-0 record, while Olimpija drop to 1-1. Zalgiris will face INSEP tomorrow to decide the group's winner, while Olimpija will take on Cajasol in search for its first win. The winners overcame a close first half to show their dominance in the second on the way to the win. Rolandas Jakstas hit 20 points and added 15 rebounds, followed by Edgaras Ulanovas hit 19 points, Dovydas Redikas had 13 and Vytenis Cizauskas scored 12. Jan Span and Filip Petrovic topped Olimpija's list with 19 points each.

Zalgiris started well with the first 11 points of the game, but after a time out Petrovic and Span started to get things done for Olimpija, and with two three pointers by Klemen Prepelic led their team on a great 1-15 run to take the lead at the end of the first quarter, 18-19. Olimpija continued to collect points beyond the arc, and reached a 22-27 lead, but Zalgiris found the answer with big hustle on the boards and big plays by Ulanovas. Nevertheless the last word of the half was spoken by Olimpija as Bojan Radulovic scored 3 points to set the half time score on 33-34. Redikas and Mockevicius came back with fire to the 2nd half, and quickly wrote an 8-1 Zalgiris run. Arnas Butkevicius and Cizauskas joined forces and a three pointer by the later, made it 56-43 after 29 minutes. Luka Grum came off the bench and combined two quick lay ups, to make it look better but Jakstas scored a three pointer and added a lay up to restore a double-digit lead, which now was maintained well by Zalgiris until the final buzzer.
