Buducnost Podgorica claimed a huge 55-74 win over Lukoil Academic in Sofia to become the second team to advance to the Last 16 from Group B. Buducnost finished the regular season with a 4-2 record and advances to the Last 16, where it will compete with Budivelnik, BC Triumph and Banvit in Group I. Lukoil finished with a 2-4 record. Academic used a 13-3 run to take a 28-20 lead in the second quarter, however Buducnost did not give up and answered with a 2-14 charge to go up 39-44 in the third. The home team climbed within 45-47 before the guests used a 9-2 run to move out to 47-56 early in the fourth quarter. Ten unanswered points completed the game for Buducnost. Gerald Lee led the winners with 18 points, Cedomir Vitkovac added 12 and Vladimir Mihailovic 10. Brandon Heath paced the hosts with 18 points, while Veselin Veselinov and Todor Stoykov added 8 apiece.

Lee and Heath exchanged baskets to open the scoring. Vitkovac went all the way then Stoykov started a 6-0 run capped by a dunk by Darryl Watkins, to give an 11-8 run to Sofia. Mihailovic answered with back-to-back three-pointers for an 11-14 Buducnost lead. Marko Popovic with a free throw and Watkins with another huge dunk fixed the score at-15 15 after 10 minutes. Mihailovic remained on fire from mid-range, but Tenchho Banev in the paint and Heats with a pull-up jumper and 2 free throws made it 21-17 for Academic. Veselinov nailed a triple, Lee bagged a short jumper and Pavel Marinov from mid-range capped a 13-3 run to lead 28-20. Vitkovac from long distance scored to push Buducnost, and after two scoreless minutes, Heath also from beyond the arc scored for 31-23. Lee and Veselinov scored as well and Pavlin Ivanov beat the halftime buzzer from downtown to go into the break with the hosts on top 33-28.

Devin Green scored from the foul line. Ivanov assisted by Demarquis Boost found easy points in the open court before a Marinov dunk made it 37-32. Consecutive three-point-plays by Lee and Boost and a three by Vitkovac gave Buducnost a 39-41 lead. Aleksa Popovic’s long distance basket finished a 2-14 run for the Montenegrin champions. A Stoykov layup brought Lukoil within 45-47 with three minutes left in the quarter. Nikola Ivanovic free throws and Marko Popovic’s three-pointer kept Buducnost in front with a 45-52 margin. Heath free throws and a Ivanovic layup fixed the third quarter at 47-54. A dunk by Mihailovic made it 47-56 early in the fourth. Heats and Marinov scored to get within 51-56, then an Aleksa Popovic layup made it 51-58 with six minutes left in the game. Popovic hith consecutive threes for the first double-digit margin to Buducnost, 52-64. Heats tried to keep Academic alive from downtown, but 10 unanswered Buducnost points – 6 from Lee and 4 from Strahinja Milosevic - sealed the win for Buducnost.
