Stellar stat

Before this game, Ulm had made 104 of 123 free-throw attempts to lead the competition in accuracy at 84.6%. Ulm only hit half of 20 its free throws on this night. Zoran Dragic, who entered the game with a 75% free throw percentage (21 of 28) made just 2 of 10, missing more free throws than in the five previous games combined.

Did you notice?

Hayes, age 18, became the second-youngest player in EuroCup history to record a double-double. Ricky Rubio was the first time, as he had 10 points and 10 rebounds against Guildford Heat on December 18, 2007; and 29 points and 10 assists against Turk Telekom Ankara on January 8, 2008 - both at age 17.

Next game

Both teams return to 7DAYS EuroCup action on Wednesday, December 11. Ulm hosts AS Monaco; Promitheas visits Segafredo Virtus Bologna.

"It has been a week now in which we haven't played that well, but we managed to get a victory from this game. We are going to work this week so that we get better and improve. According to other results in the round, we will go game by game. The goal of the team was to make it to the second round. We were the first team to succeed in this and from now on, we will go game by game, finish the first round, advance to the second round and let's see in which position we are."
LAKOVIC, JAKA
ratiopharm Ulm
"First of all, congratulations to Promitheas Patras for the deserved win. I wish them good luck further on this season. We expected a tough, physical game and I think we walked into the game very soft, which is, for sure, not the way if you want to play against Patras. We came back and were in the game all the way until the end. We made a couple of stupid mistakes and also, it is very difficult to win the game if you miss 10 out of 20 free throws. This hurt us a lot but in the end, it is the game, so congratulations to Patras. Killian [Hayes] is a young point guard who has a lot of talent. I would say he is our diamond, but still needs a lot of experience. Being inexperienced, he has a big task carrying and leading the team in a high-level competition. With all the highs, he also has the lows, but he is working a lot constantly, improving game by game. I think he will become an excellent point guard."

"It was a good game between two hard-working teams. Ulm is a very tough team, it was a fight till the end. We were able to take some extra possessions at the end that turned the game in our favor."
BABB, CHRIS
Promitheas Patras
"They are a tough team. It is never easy playing somebody, especially for the second time. And they were hungry, they were still fighting for the next round in the EuroCup. There are not going to be any easy games for us. We definitely had a couple of lapses here and there, but that's basketball and we found a way to win, so that is what it is important."
