Alba Berlin bolstered its frontcourt hours before the start of the Turkish Airlines Euroleague season by inking power forward Brian Randle to a two-month deal, with an option to extend his contract until the end of the season. Randle (2.03 meters, 27 years old) arrives from Hapoel Migdal Jerusalem, where he averaged 13 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.5 blocks in 6 Eurocup games last season. He has also played for Gilboa Galil since finishing his four-year career at the University of Illinois (NCAA). Randle helped Hapoel to win the Israeli Cup in 2011. "We needed another big man with Nathan Peavy sidelined. Brian Randle is one of the best defensive players I know and he will help us to fill this gap," Alba head coach Sasa Obradovic said. "He brings a strong physical presence, a lot of energy and speed, allowing him to defend wing players. Randle should step in to play at both forward positions. He has a few years of experience in Europe so I hope he understands my basketball philosophy quickly."
