Elan Chalon puts experienced Houston at point
Kevin Houston - Elan ChalonAfter playing half of the regular season without its injured starter at point guard, Elan Chalon-sur-Saone has signed Kevin Houston to that position as its race to reach the Top 16 in its first Turkish Airlines Euroleague season intensifies. Houston (1.77 meters, 27 years old) arrives from Moutahed Tripoli in the Lebanese League, where he was averaging 12.5 points, 5 assists and 3 rebounds this season. Last season, he split between three teams, including Apoel Nicosia of Cyprus, and French teams Cholet and Le Havre. His previous experience in France has been with Hyeres-Toulon, where averaged 12.1 points in 2010-11, at Rouen, which he helped jump to the first division in 2009, and at second-division St. Etienne. Prior to his pro career in Europe, he played university ball at Long Beach State in his native California, United States. Houston will help fill the ongoing absence of Marcus Denmon, who was signed by Chalon in the summer to play point guard but was injured shortly before the Euroleague season started and has yet to make his debut.
