Joffrey Lauvergne - Elan Chalon - EB12_41651Elan Chalon released young big man Joffrey Lauvergne on Wednesday and the player promptly signed with Eurocup power Valencia Basket. Lauvergne (2.11 meters, 21 years old) averaged 6.6 points and 3.6 rebounds over 15 minutes in seven Turkish Airlines Euroleague games – five as a starter – this season in addition to 5.9 points and 4.2 rebounds in the French League. He began his fourth season with Chalon in September. Last season Lauvergne helped the club win the French triple crown – French Cup, Semaine des As and French League titles. He has also represented France at the junior levels and won a bronze medal at the 2011 European Under-20 Championships in Bilbao, Spain.
