Just days before the start of the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Top 16, Panathinaikos Athens loaned its backup point guard Derwin Kitchen to Cedevita Zagreb. Kitchen (1.93 meters, 26 years old) leaves the Greens after averaging 11.5 minutes, 3.7 points and 2.8 rebounds during the Euroleague Regular Season, and 5.2 points, 2.2 rebounds and 2.1 assists in the Greek League. Point guard will play for the Croatian club until the end of this season, while Panathinaikos has an option to extend his contract until the end of the 2013-14 season. Before joining Panathinaikos this past summer, Kitchen played for Maccabi Rishon LeZion of Israel, which was his debut season as a pro. He was elected for the Israeli All-Star Game last season and has reached the Israeli Cup final with his team.
