Days before the team's first opportunity to reach the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Final Four in a decade, Anadolu Efes Istanbul made the surprise announcement Monday that it had temporarily suspended the team's fourth-best scorer in the competition, Sasha Vujacic. A final decision regarding his situation will be given by the club's board in the upcoming days, the team's statement said. The decision was taken soon after Game 4 of the Euroleague playoffs against defending champion Olympiacos BC Piraeus, which Efes won 74-73 on a game-winning tip-in by Jamon Lucas. It was unclear from the club's statement whether or not Vujacic will travel to Greece for make-or-break Game 5 on Friday, nor if Efes were to win, whether he would be part of the team going to the 2013 Final Four in London. Vujacic joined Anadolu Efes in the summer of 2011. He has averaged 9.1 points and 3 rebounds in 24 Euroleague games this season, although his scoring dropped 72% from the regular season to the playoffs with a corresponding drop of just 20% in playing time. Vujacic, a two-time NBA champion, earned regular season Week 6 MVP honors this season.
