After re-signing most of the core players from last season, CEZ Basketball Nymburk continued building its roster for the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Qualifying Rounds by making its first addition, a scoring combo guard Darius Washington to a one-year contract. Washington (1.88 meters, 28 years old) comes back to the perennial Czech champion, having already played for Nymburk in 2006-07 season, the first professional season of his career, and helping the team to a Czech double. Washington comes from Olin Edirne in Turkey, where he averaged 23.4 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.7 assists and 1.9 steals last season. During his career, he also played for San Antonio of the NBA, Aris and PAOK in Thessaloniki, Greece, for Ural Great in Russia, Le Mans in France, Virtus Rome in Italy, Galatasaray Liv Hospital and Turk Telekom in Turkey, Hapoel Eilat in Israel, and Quebradillas Pirates of Puerto Rico. Nymburk previously extended contracts of Jiri Welsch, Petr Benda, Pavel Houska and Tomas Pomikalek.
