
Hapoel Jerusalem and guard Derwin Kitchen will be together for the coming seasons after agreeing to a multi-year extension. Kitchen (1.93 meters, 28 years old) signed a new two-year deal with an option for a third season. He will team up with backcourt mate Yotam Halperin and new signing Donta Smith to give Jerusalem a strong perimeter attack. Last season Kitchen averaged 11.4 points, 5.4 rebounds and 4.1 assists in 19 Eurocup games. His average performance index rating of 17.1 was 14th best in the competition. Kitchen tallied 9 points, 6.6 rebounds and 5.9 assists in the Israeli League. Kitchen has also played for Maccabi Rishon in Israel, Cedevita Zagreb in Croatia and made his Turkish Airlines Euroleague debut with Greek club Panathinaikos Athens in the 2012-13 season. He had previously played college basketball at Florida State University.
