Anadolu Efes Istanbul continues as one of the most active Turkish Airlines Euroleague clubs this offseason, announcing on Wednesday an extension of the contract with veteran center Milko Bjelica for another two years. Bjelica (2.07 meters, 30 years old) arrived to Efes before the Top 16 last season, after spending the regular season with Laboral Kutxa Vitoria. He led the Euroleague in free throw percentages last season, sinking 41 of his 44 foul shots for 93.2% accuracy. Coming off the bench, the big man averaged 9.4 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.2 assists for Efes in the Top 16, while posting 9.1 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists in the Turkish League. In more than 80 games and his five Euroleague campaigns, Bjelica has a career average of 9.4 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.2 assists. With an ability to finish around the basket, but also bury shots from long range, Bjelica often pleased his employers and stayed with his teams for more than one season. He grew up with and spent five professional seasons with Crvena Zvezda, he also played three seasons with Lietuvos Rytas, and three more with Laboral. He also played with Braunschweig and Cologne in Germany.
