Dinamo Banco di Sardegna Sassari added a strong backcourt presence in guard Jerome Dyson. The sides signed a one-year contract two weeks earlier, but the deal only went into effect on July 24. Dyson (1.91 meters, 27 years old) arrives from fellow Italian League side Enel Brindsi, which he led to a fifth-place finish last season. He averaged 16.9 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.3 assists in the Italian League and bumped his scoring average to 20.7 in a three-game playoffs loss to Sassari. Dyson played college basketball at the University of Connecticut before making his professional debut with Tulsa in the NBA D-League. He averaged 9.1 points and 2 assists in nine games for New Orleans of the NBA during the 2011-12 season. Dyson first came to Europe to play for Hapoel Holon in Israel in 2012 and led the league in scoring with 20.4 points per game.
