In getting ready for the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Qualifying Rounds in late September, VEF Riga announced on Monday the addition of forward Janis Timma for the next season. Timma (2.01 meters, 22 years old) arrives frm BK Venstpils with which he won the Latvian League title last season. He averaged, 12.7 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.5 steals in 31 games. It was his second season in Venstpils. Timmas made his debut in 2009 with DSN Riga and also played in Liepajas Lauvas in 2011-12. This will be his debut in European competition and will take on Strasbourg with his new team in the first round of the qualification rounds.
