2009 NBA Las Vegas Summer League Dozens of Euroleague and Eurocup players, past and present, are taking part in the 2009 NBA Summer League presented by EA Sports at the Thomas Mack Center and Cox Pavilion in Nevada. The fact that so many players with Euroleague and Eurocup experience are taking part in this summer league attracts many general manager and scouts from some of the best squads in Europe to attend the event as they look for players to round out their rosters. As many as 19 of the 22 teams - all but Oklahoma City, Washington and the NBA D-League select - have at least one player who took part in one of Europe's signature competitions. The Las Vegas Summer League started in 2004 with six teams playing 13 total games. Started by a group of businessmen, led by Warren LeGarie, the NBA attached its name to the event in 2007. Players like Robert Hite, Quinton Hosley, Aaron Miles, Ibby Jaaber, Charles Gaines, Alan Anderson, Will McDonald and Earl Calloway are among the players that were in the Euroleague last season and are included in this year's summer league rosters. Mark Salyers, the 2008 Alphonso Ford Trophy winner, is expected to play for New Orleans. The competition starts on July 10 with three games and will finish on July 19.
