Fenerbahce loses Hickman for season
Fenerbahce Ulker Istanbul suffered a tough blow to its Final Four hopes when it was announced Friday that point guard Ricky Hickman will be out for the rest of this season after rupturing an Achilles tendon. Hickman, 29 years old, suffered the injury during the second half of Fenerbahce's 78-63 home win on Thursday against Unicaja Malaga. Having won last year's Euroleague title with Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv, Hickman was in his first season with Fenerbahce, averaging 9 points and 2 assists in 17 games. He had missed five games earlier in the Top 16, but returned to play the last six before Thursday's misfortune. The loss of Hickman leaves only one former Euroleague winner on Fenerbahce's roster, point guard Nikos Zisis, whom the team signed just before the Top 16.
