Unicaja Malaga made guard Jamar Smith its first offseason signing, the club announced Friday. The contract is for two seasons. Smith (1.91 meters, 28 years old) arrives from Limoges CSP, which he helped win the French championship. He averaged 14.0 points on 45.8% three-point shooting in 10 Euroleague regular season games and ranked second in the competition with 27 three-pointers made over that period. He also averaged 3.1 assists, 2.6 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game. Smith posted 11.3 points and 3.0 assists in six Eurocup games last season, and had 12.8 points and 3.0 assists in the French League. Smith started his professional career with Prostejov in the Czech Republic in 2011-12 season. He has also played for Hapoel Galil Gilboa in Israel and made his Euroleague debut with Germany’s Brose Baskets Bamberg in the 2013-14 campaign.
