As it gets ready to return to the Turkish Airlines Euroleague, German League champion Brose Baskets Bamberg made its first off-season roster addition, signing German national team forward Patrick Hekcmann to a three-year deal. Heckmann (1.96 meters, 23 years old) comes from Boston College, where he played in the NCAA the last three years. Last season he averaged 8.4 points, 4.4 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.3 steals. Heckmann went through youth teams of ASC Theresianum Mainz and played for TV Langend in the German second division before leaving to play for Boston College in 2011. Heckmann made his German national team debut in 2012. "After three years in the NCAA, it was important for me to take the next step in my career,” Heckmann said. “I opted for Brose Baskets, since here I get the whole package: I can play at an extremely high level and further develop myself. My goal is to win a title with Bamberg."
"We are delighted that Patrick has chosen us. He was one of the players we hope to have for years to come, " Brose Baskets CEO Rolf Beyer said. "Patrick combines everything we expect from a young German talent. Now he must take the next step in his career with us."
