Maccabi, Ohayon pen new three-year deal

Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv made sure to keep Yogev Ohayon with the club through his prime by signing the guard to a new three-year contract. Ohayon (1.89 meters, 28 years old) has already been with the club for four seasons and helped it win the 2014 Turkish Airlines Euroleague. He started 23 Euroleague games last season and averaged 5.5 points, 3.1 rebounds and 3.8 assists over 25 minutes per game. Ohayon was tied for fourth in the Euroleague with 1.4 steals per game and ranked 15th in assists. During his time with Maccabi, Ohayon has won two Israeli League championships, four Israeli Cups and the Adriatic League.

Ohayon is a product of the Hapoel Galil Elyon juniors setup and played four seasons there before spending one with Ironi Nahariyaand two with Hapoel Jerusalem. He joined Maccabi Tel Aviv in 2011 and has been there since. Among active players, only team captain Guy Pnini has been with Maccabi longer. Ohayon is also a regular with the Israeli national team and on the preliminary roster to compete at EuroBasket 2015 later this summer.
