Coming off its first Final Four appearance ever, Fenerbahce Ulker Istanbul has reinforced its frontcourt by signing experienced forward Baris Hersek for the next two seasons. Hersek (2.07, 27 years old) arrives from Turkish League champion Pinar Karsiyaka Izmir, where he averaged 6.4 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 19 Eurocup games last season, of which he started 12. Karsiyaka defeated Fenerbahce on its way to the Turkish League title later last season. Fenerbahce will be Hersek's third Euroleague team. He debuted as an 18-year-old and played seven games over two seasons for Anadolu Efes Istanbul before returning after a five year gap with Besiktas JK Istanbul in the 2012-13 season. He has spent the last two seasons with Karsiyaka, averaging 6.8 points and 3.3 rebounds over 35 total Eurocup games. Hersek has also played for the Turkish national team at EuroBasket in 2009 and at the World Cup last summer.
