Euroleague runner-up Olympiacos Piraeus invested in its future by singing point guard Vassilis Toliopoulos to a four-year contract, club announced on Monday. Toliopoulos (1.88 meters, 19 years old) arrives from Kolossos Rhodes, where last season he played his first full professional season and averaged 2.7 points in Greek League action. He grew up with Panionios Athens and also played with Ikaros in 2013-14 season. Toliopoulos is fresh off of playing for Greece at the U19 World Championships, and had 7.7 points, 4.3 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 1.1 steals as Greece finished in fourth place. “I am very happy I came to one of the best teams in Europe”, Toliopoulos said. “I know what that jersey means, and how great of a challenge it will be. I am delighted to be alongside such great players. It is unbelievable that I will be in the same locker room with Vassilis Spanoulis, after whom I modeled my game.”
