Italian triple-crown winner Dinamo Banco di Sardegna Sassari reinforced its backcourt with experience and toughness, signing point guard Rok Stipcevic to a one year deal, club announced Tuesday. Stipcevic (1.83 meters, 29 years old) arrives from fellow Italian side Virtus Roma, team he led in minutes played (27:30 per game) in Eurocup action last season, and also averaged 13.6 points, 3.3 assists and 2.3 rebounds on the way to the eighthfinals of that competition. He also had 11.3 points, 3.2 assists and 2.6 rebounds in the Italian League. Stipcevic returns to the Turkish Airlines Euroleague after two seasons away. He has played in 18 games over two Euroleague seasons with Cibona Zagreb and EA7 Emporio Armani Milan, and has career averages of 6.7 points, 2.4 assists and 2.0 rebounds. Stipcevic grew up with KK Zadar in Croatia and has spent six seasons with the club. He also played for Borik Puntamika Zadar, Tofas Bursa in Turkey, as well as Pesaro and Varese in Italy. Stipcevic is also a member of the Croatian national team.
