Unicaja Malaga bolstered its frontline by signing mobile big man Richard Hendrix, who brings four seasons of Euroleague experience with him. Hendrix (2.03 meters, 28 years old) was the 2013 Eurocup Final MVP when he led Lokomotiv Kuban to the Eurocup title. He also played the 2011 Euroleague Championship Game with Maccabi Tel Aviv. Hendrix averaged 7.8 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1 block in 17 Eurocup games for Lokomotiv last season. He also posted 9.8 points, 6.8 boards and 1.4 blocks in 36 VTB United League appearances. Hendrix first came to Europe in 2009 to play for CB Granada in Spain. He spent the next two seasons with Maccabi, during which he won a pair of Israeli League and Cup doubles and the 2012 Adriatic League. Hendrix spent half a season with EA7 Emporio Armani Milan before joining Lokomotiv in January 2013.
