Panathinaikos Athens signed center Ognjen Kuzmic to a two-year deal on Monday evening. Kuzmic (2.13 meters, 25 years old) arrives from Golden State, with whom he won the NBA title last season. He appeared in 16 games as a reserve and averaged 1.3 points and 1.1 rebounds in what was his second season with the team. Kuzmic also played for Golden State’s D-League affiliate, Santa Cruz, where he averaged 12.8 points and 7.8 rebounds and 2 blocks in 29 appearances last season and was named to the D-League All-Defensive Third Team. He started his professional career with Bosnian side Borac Nektas Banja Luka and then played for UU-Korihait Uusikaupunki and Lapuan Korikobrat in Finland and Celik Zenica in Bosnia. Kuzmic signed for Unicaja Malaga in 2011, but spent the next two seasons on loan at Clinica Rincon Azarquia and Joventut Badalona. He is a candidate to play for the Serbian national team at EuroBasket 2015.
