Pinar Karsiyaka Izmir bolstered its frontcourt and added much-needed experience weeks ahead of its Turkish Airlines Euroleague debut last season by inking big man Kerem Gonlum on Tuesday. Gonlum (2.08 meters, 36 years old) arrives from Galatasaray Liv Hospital Istanbul, where he averaged 7.7 points on 68.8% two-point shooting and 4.6 rebounds in 23 Euroleague games last season. It will Gonlum's 14th Euroleague season. Gonlum ranks sixth in Euroleague career games, 232, and is fifth in all-time rebounds (1,161), also accumulating 1,467 points. Gonlum started his career with TED Kolejliler and has also played six years for Ulker Istanbul and nine other seasons for Anadolu Efes Istanbul before joining Galatasaray. He has won two Turkish League titles - with Ulker in 2001 and Efes in 2009 - and lifted five Turkish Cup trophies - with Ulker in 2003 and 2004, as well as with Efes in 2006, 2007 and 2009. He has been a regular member of the Turkish national team for over a decade, helping it win a silver medal at the 2010 FIBA World Cup.
