Stelmet Zielona Gora kept building a competitive roster weeks ahead of its 2015-16 Turkish Airlines Euroleague regular season debut by inking shooting guard Karol Gruszecki and small forward Mateusz Ponitka. Gruszceki (1.93 meters, 25 years old) penned a two-year deal. He arrives from Energa Czarni Slupsk, where Gruszecki averaged 14.5 points and 5.3 rebounds in 35 Polish League games last season. He has also played for Spirou Charleroi of Belgium since finishing his career at the University of Texas at Arlington (NCAA). Ponitka (1.97 meters, 21 years old) arrives from Telenet Ostend, where he played for the last two seasons, helping it win back-to-back Belgian doubles - league and cup titles. He averagd 8.3 points and 3.6 rebounds in 16 Eurocup games last season. Ponitka has also played for Kasprowiczanka Ostrow, AZS Politechnika Warszawa and Asseco Prokom Gdynia of his native Poland. He helped Prokom win the Polish League title in 2012. Gruszecki and Ponitka are members of the Polish national team. Ponitka helped Poland get a silver medal at the 2010 U17 World Championships.
