Zalgiris Kaunas signed promiing rookie guard Olivier Hanlan to a one-year deal, with an option to keep him for another season, the club announced Saturday. Hanlan (1.93 meters, 22 years old) will start his professional basketball career with Zalgiris; he arrives from Boston College. Hanlan averaged 19.5 points, 4.2 rebounds and 4.2 assists in 32 NCAA games last season, in which he was chosen to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference First Team. Hanlan has also played for the Canadian Under-17, U19 and University national teams. He helped Canada win a bronze medal at the 2010 U17 World Championships.
