Off-season signing Samardo Samuels might not be able to start the season with FC Barcelona Lassa, his new Turkish Airlines Euroleague team. Barcelona announced Friday that Samuels (2.06 meters, 26 years old) had suffered a broken finger on his right, shooting hand and will be out of action for an estimated six weeks. Barcelona is due to play in the very first game of the Euroleague regular season on Thursday, October 15, on the road against Pinar Karsiyaka Izmir of Turkey. Samuels, who plays center, arrived to Barcelona this summer after two seasons with EA7 Emporio Armani Milan during which he averaged 11.1 points and 4.6 rebounds in 48 Euroleague games. He had previously played the majority of his first three pro seasons in the NBA with Cleveland.
