Dinamo Sassari lands Calvani as new coach
Just after letting go Meo Sachetti as bench boss, Dinamo Banco di Sardegna Sassari announced his replacement in Marco Calvani, who has signed a deal until the end of the season. Calvani (52 years old) spent some time in the Italian second division with Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto and Napoli. With his origins in Rome, he started his career with junior teams from the area until 1990, when he became an assistant coach in Virtus Roma, a spot he retained until 2001 with Valerio Bianchini and Cesare Pancotto. After some seasons in lower divisions, he made his comeback to the first division in Italy with Legea Scafati in 2007, and in 2012 he was assistant coach to Lino Lardo in Rome again. The following season, Calvani would take Rome to the Italian League finals against Siena.
