Olympiacos Piraeus strengthened its frontline with the addition of former Euroleague champion and All-Euroleague center Shawn James, who will take the place of the injured Patric Young. He is also second in the Eurocup with 2.14 blocks per game. James played three Euroleague seasons with Maccabi Tel Aviv from 2011 through 2014 and spent last season with Italy’s EA7 Emporio Armani Milan. He was named All-Euroleague Second Team after the 2012-13 campaign, in which he posted 11.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and a league-best 1.9 blocks over 27 games in helping Maccabi to the playoffs. A year later, he watched from the sidelines due to a back injury as Maccabi won the Turkish Airlines Euroleague at the Final Four in Madrid.
