Crvena Zvezda Telekom Belgrade shook up its perimeter rotation by signing veteran Tarence Kinsey and releasing Ryan Thompson. Kinsey (2.00 meters, 31 years old) signed for the remainder of the season. He returns to the Serbian capital, where he previously played for Zvezda's rival Partizan in the 2013-14 season. Kinsey arrives from Turkish side Trabzonspor Medical Park, where he averaged 12.2 points and 6.4 rebounds in 10 Eurocup games this season to help the team finish third in its Eurocup Regular Season group and advance to the Last 32. He is a veteran of 78 Euroleague games over six seasons with four different clubs.
Kinsey began his Euroleague career with Fenerbahce Ulker Istanbul in the 2007-08 season. After one season in the NBA with Cleveland, he returned to Istanbul for two more seasons with Fenerbahce before spending the 2011-12 campaign with Anadolu Efes Istanbul. Kinsey has since played for Victoria Libertas Pesaro in Italy, Unicaja Malaga in Spain, Partizan in Serbia, Nizhny Novgorod in Russia and Trabzonspor in Turkey. He has also played for Memphis in the NBA. Kinsey helped Fenerbahce win three Turkish League (2008, 2010 and 2011) and two Turkish Cup titles (2010 and 2011) in his three seasons with the club. He also reached the Turkish League finals with Efes in 2012.
Thompson joined Zvezda over the summer and averaged 4.8 points in 10 Turkish Airlines Euroleague games – including six as a starter. His contract was terminated by mutual consent.
